The “Feminists in Games” initiative seeks to create and support a more strongly networked community of scholars and practitioners to create bridges between the industry and academy, forging collaborations around the common goal of enacting and sustaining change in three areas:
methodologies (how research on gender and gameplay is conceptualized and carried out);
scholarship (working to support the educational development of and opportunities for new practitioners in the field); and
industry (feeding research back to industry partners, as well as supporting women working in or entering the games industry).
